The PennEast pipeline threatens drinking water, preserved lands, the health of your community, and the health of New Jersey. It would also derail our progress toward a clean energy future. Tell the NJ Department of Environmental Protection NJDEP to reject the PennEast pipeline. This dangerous, massive pipeline would: • Elevate levels of cancer-causing arsenic in our drinking water • Cut through and damage over 50 of the cleanest streams in the state • Damage over 4,300 acres of tax-payer preserved open space, farmland, and endangered species habitat • Seize land from homeowners • Have the same impact on greenhouse gas emissions as 14 coal plants • Put residents and schools nearby at risk for explosion • Make consumers pay higher utility bills Currently, PennEast is trying to force the NJDEP to issue permits for the project, even though NJDEP has said that they don't have enough information to decide the issue.
