DECISION ON PENNEAST PIPELINE IS DAYS AWAY: VOTE BEFORE JUNE 26TH

On Monday, June 26, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is expected to make an important decision about key permits for the PennEast pipeline.

The proposed PennEast pipeline would be a 120-mile gas pipeline through Hunterdon and Mercer counties. Environmental groups, such as ReThink Energy NJ, say that PennEast would increase harmful emissions and threaten drinking water, preserved lands and the health of New Jersey, and that PennEast failed to do the appropriate data collection and environmental surveys necessary complete the application. Proponents of the project say it will create jobs and lower energy costs.

One of the ways you can have your voice heard on the pipeline is by voting, through PLANETCIVIC, on the initiative to stop the PennEast pipeline. The time to act is now. Vote on PLANETCIVIC and share with your friends.
